Hello and welcome, I’m Jennifer Baker Richards and I’m so glad you’re here. 

My Mission

As CEO and founder of, ‘It’s All In The Mix’, I’ve dedicated myself in growing a company that produces a cake, so mouth-watering with Island spice and flavour, that all of its tasters would either agree it’s the best tasting cake they’ve ever put their mouth to, or at least one of the best.

My History

I came from humble beginnings.  I was born in the small town of Mandeville, Jamaica.  It was there, in my grandmother’s kitchen, as a child, where I watched and learned, with great interest, her age-old tradition of baking with passion.  I was always amazed of how my grandmother meticulously worked every detail to perfection; from the very creaming of the butter and sugar, then the combining of her special ingredients in just the perfect amount, to putting it in the oven.  Years and many cakes later I honour her memory and teachings by sharing with you this timeless tradition, and letting you know It`s All In The Mix.

My grandmother had always enstilled in me to be honest in what you do; to be trustworthy and deeply committed, and to this day I am grateful for her influence (and so are my clients – LOL).

I feel so blessed with my humble beginnings, but let me again take you back this time to my middle school years.  Even in those young years, baking remained my passion.  By this time I had entered into many baking competitions and won many first placed awards.  This only fueled my passion and creativity even more.  

Not long thereafter I obtained a scholarship to attend college to study Food and Nutrition, and Home Economics. This later led to a position at a five star hotel in Jamaica.  There I used this opportunity to hone in my craft, and paid keen attention to the intricate details of the art of baking. 

Coming to Canada

I migrated to Canada in 1985, where I decided to continue and pursue my first love for baking.  I enrolled in George Brown College to broaden my skills in baking techniques, and later graduated with honours.  Following this, I successfully landed a job at one of the prestigious Founders Club Restaurants in Toronto’s Sky Dome (that was its name at the time). 

My creativity and expertise in baking has brought me immense success over the past 35 years.  Such successes have stemmed from being featured on the following TV series, ‘I Do, Lets Eat‘, and ‘Rich Bride Poor Bride.’
